IAARC+ has unveiled the designs for the Roatán Próspera Residences, a cluster of eco-luxury residential villas situated on the beautiful Honduran island of Roatán. The design features modular, self-shading timber residences constructed using locally sourced, sustainable materials.
Each villa is designed to minimize site impact, using raised piles that allow local flora and fauna to flow beneath the structures. The modular timber frames are pre-fabricated off-site, reducing construction waste and noise while optimizing natural cross-ventilation and solar shading.
Equipped with off-grid battery arrays and rainwater harvesting systems, the residences aim to be fully self-sufficient. Cascading green terraces offer views of the Caribbean sea while acting as organic cooling elements that reduce the need for artificial air conditioning.
