IAARC+ has won the international design competition for the new Science Museum Exhibition Hall in Shenzhen. The building will act as a landmark showcase for scientific research and tech development, hosting galleries, laboratories, and lecture theaters.
The winning proposal features a crystalline volume clad in smart glass paneling that adjusts its transparency in response to sunlight. The central interior is dominated by a sweeping, public atrium that serves as a collective meeting hall and event arena.
By incorporating passive environmental design and solar roof tiling, the museum generates more energy than it consumes, serving as an active demonstrator of sustainable technology and smart architecture within Shenzhen's central district.
